Saint Onufrius didn’t cut his toenails for sixty years.
He also didn’t trim his hair, so it grew very long indeed.
Neither did he wash.
Such was the state in which he was “discovered” by Saint Paphnutius, bishop of Thebes.
Good God! If anyone ever wants to discover me,
Let it be sooner rather than later.
