Jacob Ouillette's "Brushstroke Paintings" will be featured in solo exhibitions at the Remsenburg Academy on Long Island, from August 26 to Sept 11, and New York's Nancy Margolis Gallery, from October 20 to November 26. His work has been shown recently in group exhibitions at Heriard-Cimino Gallery in New Orleans, Boltax Gallery on Shelter Island, NY, and the Nancy Margolis Gallery.
Growing up in coastal Maine, Ouillette developed a sense of beauty and color from observing the local landscape. Being brought up Roman Catholic introduced him to ideas of mysticism and the power of images. After studying painting at the Rhode Island School of Design, he moved to New York, where he has lived for over twelve years.
His work is represented by the Nancy Margolis Gallery.
