Blazing

Chased you to the Prime Meridian
where you were lounging on a beach chair
with a straw hat and a pack of Salems
all I wanted was to remind you
to think of me when you read your horoscope

Annie Banks is a freshman at Mount St. Mary's College. She plans to pursue a degree in English and become a professor. She enjoys reading British and American literature; Oscar Wilde, J. D. Salinger, and Sylvia Plath are the writers who have most inspired her. For providing valuable insight into her work, she thanks Meghan Klunk, a true kindred spirit, and Matt Farley, whose devotion and companionship have enriched her life.
